Dmitriy Bratus

The first time Dmitry joined the Company was in 1997 when he worked for Lex Analitik as an associate. In 1999 Dmitry got promoted to the position of partner and later to Managing Partner from 2000 to 2001. In 2009, after a short break, Dmitry rejoined the Company as a partner.

Dmitry successfully combines his professional and research activities.

Education:

Experience:

• Advised one of the major American corporations, one of the world’s top 3 leaders in asset consolidation, on Employment Law;
• Developed interaction schemes between providers and operators of the telecommunication services market;
• Performed legal due diligence of more than 200 subsoil use contracts;
• Under the mandate of the Committee for state property and privatization of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan, acted as legal advisor on the due diligence of more than 70 private companies with state participation (state owned stake);
• Involved in the preparation of various draft laws, including “Law on Copyright and Related Rights”, “Law on Mass Media”, “Law on real estate activities”, “Law on National Identity”, and the regulatory resolution of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On certain issues related to the application of Law on Joint Stock Companies.

Other professional activity:

• Since 2002- arbitrator of the International Arbitration Court Kazakhstan (IAC)
• Since 2004- special correspondent of the “Lawyer” magazine
• Since 2006- arbitrator of the Kazakhstani International Arbitrage (KIA)

Since 1996 Dmitry has been published on more than 60 occasions on legal theory, subsoil use, investments, copyright law, currency regulations, teaching methodology, ownership rights, and law of contact.
