Republic of Kazakhstan ratifies the SCO Counter-Terrorism Convention

Purpose:  To ratify the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Convention on combating terrorism, signed on June 16th, 2009 in Yekaterinburg.

The Convention was signed in order to contribute to the cooperation of the member countries in the struggle against terrorist activities. It’s applied when the detection, prevention and investigation of crimes, stipulated in the Convention, affect the jurisdiction of more than one member country.

The Convention regulates the cooperation between member states in case of seizure and forfeiture of any property used as an instrument of crime or to finance crime, provided for by the Convention.
