Forthcoming changes in the banking and financial sector

On September 1, 2011 during the joint session of the chambers of Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev called for the Law on the ‘Regulation of banking activity and financial organisations with regard to risk minimization’ and the Law on ‘Project financing’ to be adopted as soon as possible. The president has emphasised the urgency and importance of these laws in light of the current global economic climate. The new laws will stipulate the guarantees to be provided to all recipients of financial services.
