Olga Somova started her professional career in 2001.

She has more than 7 years experience providing competent legal advice to companies operating in the pharmaceutical sector. During her professional career Olga has successfully advised Clients’ on issues relating to the import/export, storing and sale of medicines and medical equipment in the Republic of Kazakhstan. One of her core competences is the provision of legal advice on the licensing, registration, certification and advertising of medicines, healthcare products and medical equipment.

Ms. Somova provides expert legal advice to companies working in a wide range of business sectors and industries, including medicine, pharmaceuticals, brokerage, oil and gas. She specializes in banking, tax, customs and labour legislation as well as in securities and intellectual property law.  

Ms. Somova has proven experience effectively liaising with the state during their inspections, including those carried out by tax authorities, fire-fighting services, the Sanitary and Epidemiological Station, the Department of Labour, and customs authorities, upon the inspections of entities engaged in foreign economic activities, etc.

Olga is experienced in negotiating out-of-court settlements and representing Clients’ interests in court, including disputes related to the violation of labour, antitrust, tax or customs legislation. She has proven experience in managing the legal side of M&A transactions, contributing to the preparation of international draft agreements, conducting due diligence, and advising on loans.

Olga is an expert in the provision of legal advice for investment projects in the Republic of Kazakhstan. She has also been involved in the drafting of various legislative acts, including laws on real estate and civil aviation, and by-laws for ministries and state agencies.
