Lex Analitik Training Centre would like to invite you to attend a seminar on Current issues in labour relations. Risks for employers in light of changes introduced into the ROK Labour Code. Changes and additions introduced on March 1, 2012”.

Dates of the seminar: 12, 13 and 14 April 2012 (24 hours)

The objective of the seminar is to gain greater understanding and knowledge of the Labour Law in the Republic of Kazakhstan and to examine the latest changes introduced to the Labour Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan and their practical application.

The seminar will examine the following topics in detail:

  • Employment contract. “Renegotiating” of employment contracts and employers’ risks if disputes are taken to court.  Renewal of employment contracts.
  • Difference between employment contracts and commercial contracts. Connection between employment contracts and commercial services agreements.
  • Testing as part of the employment process.
  • Managing part-time employees.
  • Grounds and procedures of terminating an employment contract:
    • upon mutual agreement of the parties;
    • with the Chief executive officer;
    • on the initiative of the employee;
    • on the initiative of the employer.
    • Occupational training, professional development and further training.
    • Guarantees and compensation payments to employees;
  • Changes to the grounds and procedures for employment contract termination on the initiative of the employer.
  • Legal implications of employment contract termination without a valid reason. Reinstatement of duty through the court.   Risks for employers when handling labour disputes.
  • Working hours.
  • Night shifts.
  • Work on a rotational basis. Definition of a rotation, its duration. Recording of working time when working on a rotational basis.
  • Types and definition of time off. Meal and rest breaks. Special breaks.
  • Changes in granting annual leave.
  • Conflicts in the Labour Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan in relation to granting annual leave.
  • Risks for employers granting leave without pay.
  • Off-site work.
  • Disciplinary sanctions.
  • Types of financial liability.
  • and others.

Seminar speaker:

  • Natalia Vasilievna Giliova, PhD in Law, assistant professor at Employment & Civil Law Department at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

Format: The seminar is held in accordance with the Labour Legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan as an intensive interaction between the speaker and participants. The training includes role play, case studies, sharing of experiences, consulting and other interactive educational methods.

Seminar cost: 120000 KZT. The cost includes seminar attendance, refreshments (3 lunches, 6 coffee breaks); comprehensive hand out materials in both electronic and hard copy formats, certificate of completion.
